Movement based strengthening exercise is important for our health and vitality.
Strength and conditioning play an integral role in reducing and reversing conditions such as sarcopenia - muscle wasting related to aging (i.e. loss of muscle mass and muscle strength), osteopenia - loss of bone density related to aging that results in weakened bone strength, and osteoporosis - a further loss of bone density that leads to brittle and fragile bones.
These conditions accelerate under circumstances of prolonged inactivity (i.e. injury, sickness, surgical recovery, and hospital stays). It has been shown that atrophy, aka muscle loss, begins within 2 days of bedrest immobility!
Immobilization of longer than 14 days accelerates this loss of muscle mass by also decreasing the strength of the remaining muscle. The good news is that 90 minutes of strength training each week (3x30 min/week) builds muscle mass and strength. These muscular improvements help to not only maintain and increase function, but also balance and range of motion.
We offer a specialized strength and conditioning program called '60+ Older Adult Training'. This program is designed to:

How Do I Get Started?
Here is how it works…
Schedule Initial Evaluation
Our journey begins with a movement assessment - a proven formula of key movements - and an orthopedic evaluation provides us with the information needed to build a plan specific to your needs. We then create a login for you on our Coaching Platform 'Active Points Fitness'. This is how you and your coach will communicate throughout your training plan to discuss benchmarks and troubleshoot challenges along the way.
Choose Your Training Plan
A. In-Person or Video-Based Private Training: 1-on-1 session of movement training under direct supervision of a coach. This is a 'pay as you go' plan. Schedule at a frequency that aligns with your goals.
30 Minute Session - $65/session
50 Minute Session - $100/session
B. Virtual Coaching Online: a personalized plan available to you via our online platform. A coach creates, updates and monitors progress. Regular opportunity to message with your coach with questions or concerns. This is a monthly coaching plan and can be paired with In-Person or Video-Based Private Training to accommodate your needs.
Virtual Coaching Online - $100/month
When performed consistently, Strength training has a positive impact on the body’s ability to stabilize and adapt to all of life's movements - improved cardiovascular health, increased muscle and bone strength, improved balance and coordination (to name a few). If a particular exercise doesn't feel good or work for you we adjust the program. With the use of our Coaching Platform we are in direct contact with you throughout the process. We progress, adapt and adjust programming to keep you on track with your goals without setbacks or injury.
